We start the preview congratulating Jimmy Paul on his  Big V Squad selection for their clash against WA on July 7th. This is just reward for a couple of excellent seasons from our captain. Well done Jimmy and we hope you get to represent the VAFA.

Saturday sees all three teams back at PP. The seniors and reserves take on Caulfield Grammarians while the Hearts play AJAX at 1pm. They are must win games for all teams albeit for different reasons. The boys want further reward for their recent efforts which have been very commendable. A repeat of the performance shown against Blacks last week would see us go close to winning. An even four quarter performance is required. The side is beginning to settle down with the likes of Gledders, Brodie Steel, Plymo and Nick Gooda benefitting from a few runs under their belts.

The Hearts take on AJAX and need to get back on the winner’s list. While a few players are returning, there are still a few unavailable so it will be a good test. We are currently sitting fourth on the ladder and would need to win this to think about finals footy.

The First XVIII play Geelong College down the highway. Still undefeated, the lads will be looking to go into the holiday period with another victory under their belts. There are four matches left in the season, so the team is edging closer to another flag.

We encourage all supporters to get down to PP and support the magenta and black. Injuries and unavailability have taken their toll in the first half of the season so we look to improved fortune in the back half.

Afternoon tea will be served at half time, including Bron Paul’s infamous scones, jam, and cream.

The next home game luncheon will take place on the 14th of July. We will post further details as they come to hand. But be prepared for the usual excellent spread.

The “Goods and Services Auction Night” is shaping up as a great night. It is to be held on the 21st of July. This is a major fundraiser for the club so make sure you plan to get along. There will be a live band, finger food and with drinks at bar prices, this will be a great night out for only $50. The venue is the Brighton Baths Function Room with festivities starting at 6.45pm.
